CDM Granulate Maintenance and Change-Out Instructions

Proper maintenance of your CDM granulate ensures the continued efficiency and effectiveness of your CDM Star system. Follow these instructions for inserting, operating, and changing out the granulate:

Inserting Granulate

  1. Prepare the Granulate
Open the bucket of granulate, ensuring it is ready for use.

  2. Pour the Correct Amount
For the CDM Star, pour approximately 10 lbs (roughly half of the bucket) into the machine. This amount ensures optimal performance during operation.

  3. Preheat the CDM
Before starting, make sure the CDM is preheated to 140°F. This will ensure the granulate operates at its best capacity.

Daily Cleaning

  1. Wipe Down Entry and Exit Trays
At the end of each day, wipe down the entry and exit tray linings and ramps. This step prevents any granulate particles from building up and transferring to your flatware, ensuring consistent cleanliness and quality.

Granulate Change-Out

  1. Monitor Granulate Condition
Over time, the granulate will break down and lose its ability to absorb water. When this happens, it’s time to change it out.

  2. Remove Old Granulate
Ensure the equipment is turned off. Use a shop vac or vacuum to remove the spent granulate from the machine. This method is efficient and ensures all particles are removed.

  3. Refill with Fresh Granulate
Open a new bucket of granulate and pour in the appropriate amount—about 10 lbs for the CDM Star.

  4. Maintain Stock
To avoid downtime, always keep an extra bucket of granulate in stock. This ensures that you can quickly change out the granulate and keep your operations running smoothly.

By following these steps, you’ll maintain the performance of your CDM Star and ensure your flatware is consistently polished, dried, and ready for service.
